New Patient Assessment up to 30 to 40 minutes £125
This includes the following:
Oral hygiene instruction
Basic periodontal charting – to assess gum disease
Provision of appropriate oral hygiene aids
Plaque and calculus removal
Suitable for patients who have not seen a hygienist before or have lapsed hygiene appointments
Enhanced Oral Hygiene Treatment
The treatment is a 2-part treatment
£150
This includes the following:
All the elements of a new patient appointment
Detailed periodontal charting to assess need of further treatment
Review of patient oral hygiene
Suitable for patients with localised mild gum disease
Non-Surgical Periodontal Treatment
This includes the following:
Enhanced oral hygiene session
  • Detailed periodontal charting
  • Root surface debridement
  • 3-month post treatment reassessment

This treatment is for the in-depth removal of calculus on the teeth
The Treatment comprises a minimum of 3 appointments. Depending of the severity of the periodontal condition, there are 3 pricing bands as shown below

Band 1 (Generalised/mild) £210
Band 2 (Generalised/moderate) £270
Band 3 (Generalised/severe) £340

Maintenance appointments
This includes the following:
  • Review of oral hygiene
  • Plaque and calculus removal
  • Full mouth polish
  • Fluoride application where necessary

Supportive Maintenance appointments are for patients who have completed the initial treatment for periodontal disease and are now in the maintenance phase.

NHS dental charges from

The charge you pay depends on the treatment you need to keep your mouth, gums and teeth healthy. You will only ever be asked to pay one charge for each complete course of treatment, even if you need to visit your dentist more than once to finish it – either Band 1, Band 2 or Band 3.

If you are not exempt from charges, you should pay one of the following charges for each course of treatment you recieve:

Band 1 course of treatment –
This covers and examination, diagnosis (eg X-rays), advice on how to prevent future problems, a scale and polish if needed, and application of fluoride varnish o fissure sealant. If you require urgent care, even if your urgent treatment needs more than one appointment to complete, you will only need to pay one Band 1 charge

Band 2 course of treatment –
This covers everything listed in Band 1 above, plus any further treatment such as fillings, root canal work or if your dentist needs to take out one or more of your tee

Band 3 course of treatment –
This covers everything listed in Bands 1 and 2 above, plus crowns, dentures and bridges.
