New patient guide from our dentists in Ipswich

dentist-in-ipswich

We’re happy to inform you that there is now space on our roster to accept new patients. The previous year has been pretty intense for all of us in dentistry and there are many clinics with extensive waiting lists which have unfortunately had to close their doors to new patients. Thankfully we are not one of them. So if you’re looking to register with a dentist in Ipswich Hawthorn drive dental practice is accepting new patients!

We start all of our new patient introductions with the same appointment, you should give yourself at least 45 minutes as this is required in order to fully explore your medical history as well as discuss any of your goals. Our treatment coordinator will first go through your smile goals, in order to better direct you towards the correct medical professional. All new patients receive oral cancer screening and advice on oral hygiene. A set of X-rays will be carried out from multiple angles and any discussions of the required treatment will begin.

Patient-focused dentistry

Our style of performing dentistry is extremely patient-focused. We not only rely on the debriefing of staff in order to assess how procedures are going or what level of satisfaction patients are experiencing, but we also regularly poll our patients to proactively discover what they are liking about our clinic and where we could possibly improve.

This ethos of patient-focused dentistry extends to the procedures in the chair. Whichever level of intervention you are receiving, from a filling to a whole set of dental implants, the driving force of these procedures are you and achieving your goals.

We are happy to accept any private patient and all those with applicable insurance policies at our  dentist in Ipswich.

Emergency appointments

We have always maintained a set of vacant appointments in our daily schedules to accommodate emergency appointments. If you require emergency care, feel free to get in contact and we will be able to see you the same day or refer you to a clinic that can.

As with most medical issues, it is important to seek medical care as soon as possible, not necessarily because of discomfort at the time. The risk of the situation escalating (like a chipped tooth) can easily provide an opportunity for the formation of a cavity due to the absence of enamel at the chip site.

As part of a standard procedure with emergency appointments, we conduct a set of X-Rays in order to fully explore the extent of the damage. This is particularly important when faced with a trauma based injury, as it helps us to assess the potential damage to roots beneath the gum. This can allow the prevention of the formation of abscess and avoid more complicated treatment at a later date like root canals.

If you are attending the clinic for an emergency appointment without calling in advance, please be aware that there may be a substantial wait. Also, we do not provide off-road parking at our dentist in Ipswich; please ensure that you have not restricted any of our residential neighbours or their dropped kerbs when attending the clinic.
